1. Introduction
This policy explains what data IRRanks collects when you link your account or use the bot and website, why it's collected, and how you can remove it. IRRanks is built and operated by an individual, not a company, for iRacing endurance racing teams.
2. Data We Collect
Depending on which features you and your team use, IRRanks stores:
- Discord identity — your Discord user ID, and the Discord server (guild) IDs of servers running IRRanks. Used to identify you and route commands, not to read your messages.
- iRacing statistics — your iRacing customer ID, iRating, Safety Rating, license class, and country flag, fetched from iRacing's own public member API once you link your account with
!IRR link. - Display name — either your iRacing display name (fetched automatically) or a name your team admin sets for you.
- Event sign-up and planning data — car preference, timezone, stated goal (e.g. split win, gain iRating, learn), and hour-by-hour availability you submit when signing up for a race.
- Stint and strategy data — fuel, pit stop, and lap time numbers your team enters for a race, and the stint assignments (which driver drives when) that result from it.
- Live telemetry (optional) — if your team uses the IRRanks desktop companion app during a live race, lap times, fuel level, tire wear/temperature, and incident counts are recorded against your driver profile for that event, for real-time tracking and post-race review.
- Team/server configuration — settings your team admins choose, like which Discord channel gets posted reports, and your team's Discord server icon (fetched live from Discord for display, not stored as a file).
- Technical error logs — if something goes wrong (e.g. the bot can't rename you due to a permissions issue), a short technical message and the server ID it happened in are logged so the operator can fix it. These logs don't contain message content.

3. How We Use Your Data
Your data is used solely to provide IRRanks' features, including:
- Keeping your Discord nickname in sync with your current iRating and license
- Displaying leaderboards, weekly/monthly/yearly iRating reports, and Driver of the Month
- Announcing split wins in your server
- Building stint plans, checking driver availability, and matching them against your race schedule
- Live race tracking (fuel, lap time, and pit status alerts) if your team uses the desktop app
- Per-car Discord threads for coordinating strategy, which are automatically deleted a few days after creation
We do not sell your data, and do not use it for advertising or for any purpose beyond providing the bot's features.
4. Data Storage & Retention
Data is stored on a private server the operator controls; only the operator has access to it. Race/telemetry data older than a couple of months and stint threads older than a few days are deleted automatically. Your linked-driver data is kept only as long as you stay linked to a team - you can remove it at any time with !IRR unlink. Logging into the IRRanks website sets a signed browser cookie proving your Discord identity, valid for 30 days; it doesn't grant IRRanks any access beyond your Discord ID and username.
5. Who Can See Your Data
Your team's admins can see your linked iRacing stats, availability, and stint assignments through the admin panel and Discord commands - that's the point of the tool. Data from one team is not visible to another team. The IRRanks operator can access all stored data to operate and support the service, and may need to view a server's data to help troubleshoot an issue on request.
6. Third-Party Services
IRRanks fetches data from iRacing's own member API - by linking your account, you acknowledge that your public iRacing stats will be fetched and displayed within your team's Discord server. IRRanks operates on the Discord platform and is subject to Discord's own Privacy Policy for anything Discord itself handles (message delivery, your Discord account, etc). The IRRanks website loads fonts from Google Fonts, which may see your IP address when a page loads - no analytics or tracking scripts are used anywhere on IRRanks.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Remove your linked data at any time using
!IRR unlink - Ask what data is stored about you
- Request deletion of your data by contacting us
8. Changes to This Policy
This policy may be updated as IRRanks' features change. Continued use of IRRanks after a change constitutes acceptance of the new policy. Significant changes will be noted with an updated date above.
